The T599 KO-CAP High Humidity/High Temperature Performance Polymer series delivers stability and endurance under harsh humidity and temperature conditions.
Building on the success of the T598 series, KEMET further refined the design, materials and manufacturing to ensure T599 delivers higher stability and endurance under harsh conditions. T599 capacitors pass 1,000 hours of humidity bias testing under 85°C with 85% relative humidity at rated voltage, and endurance testing at 150°C up to 1,000 hours, rendering it the only 150°C AEC-Q200 qualified polymer electrolytic capacitor available today.
“Since 2015, T598 capacitors have offered engineers a breakthrough in high capacitance, low ESR and long lifetime with full AEC-Q200 qualification,” said Dr. Philip Lessner, KEMET Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. “Over the last two years, designers have utilized polymer electrolytic capacitors in space-constrained or high-performance applications. Now that KO-CAPs meet both 150°C and AEC-Q200 guidelines, automotive engineers can incorporate these innovative devices into powertrain designs.”
Qualification is compliant with AEC-Q200 guidelines and parts are manufactured in an ISO TS 16949 certified plant. T599 is also available for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Part Submission Warrant (PSW) and change control notification.
KEMET’s Solid Capacitor Business Group (SCBG) is pleased to announce the release of our T583 Space Grade Series. This addition to KEMET's Organic Capacitor (KO-CAP® ) line is the first ESCC (European Space Components Coordination) Epoxy Coated SMD Polymer Capacitor available on the market today.
KEMET's T583 Space Grade Series is designed for mission critical applications where short and long term reliability are paramount. This product demonstrates low and stable ESR and very high ripple current capability as compared to MnO2 capacitors of the same case size, capacitance and voltage rating. The T583 Series is manufactured in Europe (Evora, Portugal) and is suitable for industrial, communications, military and aerospace applications.
With its robust anode quality, benign failure mode, mechanically robust assembly and epoxy housing, the T583 Series is ideal for use in point-of-load applications such as buck/boost converters, filtering, hold-up and other high ripple or high in-rush current applications. The T583 Series provides extremely low and stable ESR and superior capacitance retention at higher frequencies and lower temperatures and in many applications, results in the use of fewer components. The effects of this are lighter weight (critical for flight), board space savings and lower total cost of ownership.
The T583 Series is compliant with ESCC Generic Specification No. 3012/005 for Capacitors, Leadless Surface Mounted, Tantalum, Solid Electrolyte to insure these products are suitable for mission critical applications. The T583 Series was designed to operate in a temperature range of -55°C to +105°C.
KEMET will release the QPL versions in 2018.

Modular Series Offer Highest Voltage and Deliverable Energy with Lowest Leakage Current
KEMET announced the release of its M55 Module Polymer Hermetic Seal (PHS) capacitor portfolio. KEMET's M550 and M551 Modular Series are designed for mission critical high capacitance and voltage applications and are manufactured by placing T550 or T551 Polymer Hermetic Seal capacitors in parallel. The M55 Series is suitable for telecom, computer, defence and aerospace applications.
With its robust anode quality, benign failure mode, mechanically robust assembly and epoxy housing, the M55 Series of modules are ideal for use in high voltage power management applications such as buck boost converters, filtering, hold-up capacitors, and other high ripple or high in-rush current applications. The M55 Modular Series provides extremely low and stable ESR and enhanced capacitance retention at higher frequencies and low temperatures, resulting in the highest total capacitance and most economical solution for high power applications.
KEMET has qualified the discrete components used in the M55 Series to DLA Drawing 13030 to ensure these products are suitable for high reliability applications KEMET, in association with entities within the space community and several KEMET aerospace customers, has confirmed that the rigorous testing options included in this comprehensive drawing are applicable to standard and high reliability flight applications including space. Discrete parts qualified to this drawing are available options for this modular capacitance solution.
The M551 Series offers all of the performance benefits of the M550 Series but with an increased temperature rating of 125 degrees Celsius. The M550 modular series is rated at 105 degrees Celsius.
